In May 2022 after a severe burnout and a sudden breakup I took a pause on my career and booked a solo one-way flight to Lisbon, Portugal with no set plan. I spent a couple months there and inevitably bounced around to Italy, Spain, France, London, and Scotland. I managed to burn through about every bit of savings I had to last out the 90 day visa and the trip was well worth the expense. I took thousands of pictures, although many were lost to my pickpocketed phone at the midway mark, but I filled up the space on my new cheap replacement phone as much as I possibly could. Upon returning to Brooklyn I spent a few days going through and organizing all my pictures and decided to make these collages out of pieces of the trip. I edited the photos in After Effects, printed them, cut and glued, then edited in Photoshop. This little project was very fun experiment and working with something physical also felt very healing.
